With coffee in hand I sit and watch the the world wake up. Praying. Reading. Wondering about the answer to my friend’s question.
“Stacy, how do you love more… and think less?”

I find it somewhat funny that in trying to figure out what the answer looks like, I sit and think. It’s the way I process the world, and if I’m not careful I live life in my head and ignore the rest. Especially when I’m not sure what’s around the corner.
I’m not really expecting a step by step answer to this one. Yet I pray… Lord, only you know. Show me how to love more…and think less. Because my mind is full of all the things, and I’m finding it difficult to settle. to sit still. to be present in this moment.
Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words. For God knows how to answer prayer in ways that stick with me, in ways that draw my focus away from my tendency to hop on the hamster wheel of thinking. I slow down and snap the picture that brings clarity to my question.

And just in case I need further clarification my pastor brings the message home Sunday. “You tend to move toward what you focus on.”
Maybe loving more, thinking less is an invitation to focus on God in the hopes that my pastor is right, and I will move forward as if I’m driving over a bridge surrounded by fog.
No getting distracted by what’s to the right or to the left.
No trying to figure out how to turn around.
No worrying about what’s happening miles down the road.
Jesus said the most important thing to do is to love God… love others.

Perhaps this is the one clear answer to almost everything.
