Welcome. I really mean it. If we’ve somehow found each other in this space, then I say it again:
Welcome! You’re invited, you are wanted, you belong right here.
That’s right. You… beautiful, wonderful child of God. You. belong. here. And I’m so glad you’ve arrived.
I’m Stacy… daughter, sister, wife to a salesman. I answer to momma, aunt, and friend but never to “miss”. Because I believe names are important gifts given to us by those who love us the most. I’m always amazed how we tend to grow into the story of our name. It’s all mystery and miraculous, don’t you think?
My story begins and continues in the heart of East Texas where pine trees reach to the sky, and it hurts like the dickens when you step on a pinecone. Which might deter most from going barefoot, but not me. I love to feel cool green grass under my toes. My youngest does too. I think he got that from me.
Most good stories ebb and flow all wrapped in joy and sorrow while the main character discovers themselves along the way. I think that’s the point of all this living. Learning who God is and who I’m created to be. It’s a beautiful, messy, adventure to discover who you really are. I’m a thinker, and a dreamer just for the sake of dreaming. My dearest friend says, “I love everything.” My flower bed is proof she’s on to something.
Perhaps what is most consistent about my story are the two things you’ll find me doing no matter what season of life I’m walking through. I’m the one you’ll find encouraging or teaching, and often both at the same time.
I’m especially drawn to stories with happy endings. Because I believe my story is being written by the Author of the world, and it’s not just about me. It’s about the Writer of all stories. yours. mine. all who’ve lived and will live.
Everyone’s story is a part of the grandest story ever told. And while I’m not sure about the details of what’s ahead, I know it will be a happily-ever-after kind of ending. Knowing the end of the story gives me reason to keep going. I keep taking tiny steps, living moment to moment, with a heart wide open to discovering more and more.
I really am happy you’re here. It’s not an accident or coincidence. Frankly, I don’t believe in either. This connection… this place is a story intersection. I pray you find glimpses of your own story in mine.
But what I hope most of all is you discover the Author of your story is crazy about you. Yep. God is crazy about YOU. Oh I’m sure you can point to all the reasons why you are messy and messed up. Me too. Truth is messy doesn’t change the facts. God loves you right now, in this moment… and this one…. and this one… You get the picture right?
If you’re still not sure. I get that too. It’s why you’ve found me here. Writing… sharing… living out my own discovery of what it means to follow Jesus in my ordinary, day-by-day story.
Perhaps you’ll discover God’s way too.
Oh how I hope and pray you do.
Stacy
